The Heritage Foundation's Partnerships in Western Missouri

The Heritage Foundation is a renowned American conservative think tank based in Washington, D. C. Founded in February 1973 by Paul Weyrich, Edwin Feulner and Joseph Coors, the organization has been at the forefront of many initiatives and projects. It has been involved in the culture wars of the 1990s, advocating for business-friendly policies, anti-communism and neoconservatism, as well as for the Christian right.

The Heritage Foundation has established a number of partnerships with organizations and institutions in Western Missouri. One of these is the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation (MCHF), which was created in November 1997 to support conservation efforts in the region. The MCHF works to protect and value forest, fisheries and wildlife resources by providing financial resources to the priorities of the Missouri Department of Conservation in collaboration with donors and other partners. The Foundation has also been involved in a peregrine falcon restoration project in Springfield, as well as a Cedar Gap project.

In addition, it has partnered with Colorado's Western Working Lands Climate-Smart Network to invest in a new website and signs to inform consumers about a new product and to provide contact information about the project to those who wish to participate. Participating producers would receive financial assistance to implement climate-smart practices in beef production and monitor the results. The Heritage Foundation also published Policy Review, a public policy magazine until 2001. It was later acquired by the Hoover Institution. In January 1981, it published The Leadership Mandate, a comprehensive report aimed at reducing the size of the federal government and providing public policy guidance to the next Reagan administration.

This book was the product of more than 400 academics and policy experts from across the conservative movement and across the country. The Heritage Foundation also offers young leaders from across the country Washington, DC an Online Program for Emerging Leaders. It also provides Heard at Heritage, a weekly battle cry for freedom-lovers around the world packed with Dr. Roberts' analysis of the issues of the day and in-depth conversations with drivers and agitators of American politics and culture.

Furthermore, it offers Level 101, a podcast that explains main political issues at Level 101, as well as Supreme Court podcast that analyzes what's happening in the Supreme Court. In summary, The Heritage Foundation has formed strategic alliances with various organizations and institutions in Western Missouri to promote conservation programs, facilitate projects such as peregrine falcon restoration project or Cedar Gap project, invest in new websites and signs to inform consumers about new products, provide contact information about projects to those who wish to participate, publish Policy Review magazine or The Leadership Mandate report.
