The Heritage Foundation Internship Program is an amazing chance for young conservative leaders to gain practical experience in a field that interests them. Located in western Missouri, the program provides students enrolled in educational institutions with the opportunity to work in agencies and explore federal careers. In addition to coursework, interns can take part in work-based learning opportunities, such as internships and scholarships. Individual placement in departments includes foreign, economic and domestic policy research.

Internships provide students with an experience of professional growth in public horticulture; encourage creative problem-solving skills in public garden management issues; and give students with practical professional experience in managing public gardens. The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy offers short-term and long-term summer internship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in horticulture-related careers. The Missouri Botanical Garden internship program offers a hands-on learning experience for those enrolled in a college or university studying a field related to horticulture. Kate has a fundamental background in botany, as well as more than 15 years of professional experience in horticulture.

Rodd Moesel and his wife, Dona, own and operate American Plant Products and Services in western Oklahoma City. He studied horticultural science at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina; participated in a summer internship at The Scott Arboretum at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania; and has traveled around the United States and eleven countries to gain a national and global perspective on horticulture. He received the Medal of Honor from the Entomological Foundation for his work in founding three successful science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs (two while in graduate school and one at Corteva Agriscience) that continue to grow.

Moesel has been a member of the Dean's Advisory Committee of the Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Oklahoma State University for more than 20 years, served as president of the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation, and co-chairs the OSU Foundation's agriculture fundraising committee.
