In 2005, the Foundation was part of the Truman Lake Wetlands Restoration Partnership. The 16 groups in the Partnership raised $312,000 to restore 770 acres of bottomland forest, wetlands and prairie in the Upper Osage River basin on Harry S Truman Dam and Reservoir lands.
Individuals and groups across the state are actively conserving Missouri's fish, forests, wildlife and natural places. But for many organizations, finding the money for conservation projects is a challenge.
The Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation addresses this challenge by providing a revenue stream for worthy projects. By working with Conservation Department employees, we often match funds invested by partner groups or provide capstone funding for projects that otherwise would not happen. We are proud to support the work of Conservation Department employees and conservation partners, many of which are listed here.
